You are cordially invited to attend An American Celebration on July 4, 2010!

Roanoke Tea Party and Fox Radio 910 are proud to announce a major non-political, non-partisan event for July 4, 2010 at Roanoke’s Elmwood Park.

The past year has seen a divisive and deeply partisan political environment develop across the US, and in our beloved Roanoke Valley as well. When issues are large and differences great, such passions can’t help but be inflamed.

But just as any family puts aside their differences for special events, The Roanoke Tea Party and Fox Radio 910 are inviting everyone, regardless of their political persuasion, to join us on July 4 for An American Celebration at Elmwood Park. You won’t hear denunciations of one party or effusive praise for another – just a joyful accounting of why we are proud to be Americans.

This event will be equal parts celebration, education, discussion and fun. Activities will be offered for children, teens and adults with a sincere appreciation for what the date commemorates, the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Good, old-fashioned, all-American food will be available all afternoon, along with a variety of informational booths and craft exhibits. There is no cost to attend and all are welcome!

For those interested in discussing issues relating to our founding documents, we will have a series of panels seated away from the main stage.

Celebrating our heritage of liberty and freedom is something that can unite all Americans. We will do our part on July 4 at Elmwood Park.
