The March public meeting of The Roanoke Tea Party will be held this Thursday, March 3, at the Ramada Inn River’s Edge at 6:30 pm.

Prior to the 6:30 public meeting, we will hold a brief Business Meeting at 6:00 p.m. for voting members only. This is to approve a few minor changes to our bylaws. Voting Members please try to be at the hotel by 6:00 so that we can take this vote right away.

We will have a special guest on Thursday to speak to us about the efforts being made to bring Islamic Sharia Law to Europe and the US. She is a chapter leader and representative for ACT! For America. It should be a very interesting presentation.

Chip Tarbutton will also discuss our loose plans for an April 15 Tax Day event. We will be depending on your input and feedback about these plans, which are not yet completely firmed up.

Those concerned about the possibility of 400 foot high windmills being built in Roanoke County to generate electricity should try to make a public meeting of the Roanoke County Planning Commission at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday (3/1).

The purpose of this meeting is to take public comment on proposed regulations for any such windmills as may be built in the County.

According to a piece in The Roanoke Times on Sunday:
The generators would have to produce no more than 60 decibels of noise at the developers’ property line, the effects of flicker and shadow from sunlight through the turbine blades would have to be “mitigated,” and the turbines could cause “no disruption of radio, telephone, television or similar signals.”
Do you trust the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors to carefully set, review and enforce these regulations?

The meeting will be held on March 1 at the Roanoke County Administration Center, 5204 Bernard Drive, just off Rt. 419.

The (2/28) edition of the Virginia Tea Party Network radio show on Fox Radio Roanoke featured audio from Sonnie Johnson’s presentation this past Saturday at the Perfecting Unity Church.

Sonnie has done quite a bit of study and research, and has put together a very powerful presentation about the history of black Americans that you weren’t taught in school. This includes the historic contributions of black citizens to the cause of liberty in our country, and the voices of conservative black patriots which are rarely heard or recognized.

If you missed the live broadcast, the audio is available now on our web site, and will also be podcast via Feedburner and iTunes. The show will air a second time on Sunday (3/6) at 11:30 a.m.

Special thanks to Molly Maid, our sponsor for the Virginia Tea Party Network. Please keep them in mind for all your home cleaning needs.
