Beware of the Green Menace
(UPDATE…The directions link was incorrect…it has been corrected…the park is behind the school) As we discussed in our last post, one of our goals is to remove Roanoke from the ‘International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives. (ICLEI) This seemingly innocuous group has a goal that is very simple. To herd people into urban areas and mandate that the majority of land cannot be developed. Sound crazy? Please peruse the information we have here and see for yourself. We will be sharing much more information on a new site virginiagreenmenace.com. The site is not up yet, but will be operational within a day or two.
Ablemarle County has struck the first blow for freedom in the commonwealth by voting to end all relationships with ICLEI. This is tremendous news. The video linked here shows the county board’s vote.
That is also our goal in Roanoke County as well. It can be done and we can make it happen by demanding this of our supervisors and by removing those supervisors, like Charlotte Moore, that support ICLEI.
To that end, we will be having a meeting on Wednesday June 15 at the Oak Grove Park (Small park right behind Oak Grove Elementary School on the Grandin Road Ext. off of Electric Road.) View Larger Map
It should be a beautiful evening and we will start at 6:30 PM at the shelter there. We will cover some of the details of why it is so important to remove all traces of ICLEI from Roanoke County. There will also have 2 gentlemen running for the county board who are interested in learning more about this and they will be looking for support. So we look to see you there as we kick off our effort to remove ICLEI from Roanoke County.
Unfortunately, we had some really bad news today as well as the coal fired electric plant in Giles County will be closing due to the expense of new EPA regulations. That is a disastrous decision brought about EPA regulations that effectively bring you Cap and Trade, withough the legislation. Our energy costs will rise and 600 people will lose their jobs. Is that the kind of change we were promised?
The very existence of the EPA is unconstitutional. Look in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution. Those are the enumerated powers the Federal government were given by the states. You won’t find anything remote to the EPA in those powers. When Virginia decides that they have had enough of the insanity of unconstitutional Federal overreach we have a choice.
Nullification and Interposition.
The Freedom For Virginians Act (FFVA) lays out a procedure where Virginia could ignore the unconstitutional mandates by the EPA and require that the state step into protect the 600 workers in Giles county if the EPA tried to enforce this insanity. Learn more about the FFVA here.
We didn’t develop this idea. James Madison and Thomas Jefferson developed the concept of nullification. We believe that the authors of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence knew what what was allowed by the Constitution.
We need to pass this in our state legislature. And we need courageous legislators willing to stand up and do this. Because it is increasingly apparent that the only way to stop the Federal government from destroying us is to have our states stand up on our behalf.
