Roanoke Tea Party

Sorry for the lack of recent posts, but I have been pulled in a number of directions this week from work and church.

Watching the debacle that is the Solyndra Debacle. Green jobs. What a brilliant idea. A telling YouTube clip from the first of what are sure to be a number of hearings around this. The lack of oversight is typical and  exhibit 1001 on why we can’t trust the federal government.

Here is a list of upcoming events. Lots brewing.

Tuesday Sept 20: Botetourt Tea Party. Been reading about Don Assaid and his battle with Botetourt County and the local GOP? Get a chance to hear Don’s story first hand. We will have our Botetourt Tea Party meeting this Tuesday at the Daleville Shoney’s right off of exit 150A on I81. We will also be doing a Botetourt County politics 101 course. Interested in getting more involved in local Botetourt politics…this will help give you the lay of the land.

Tuesday, September 27: Roanoke County Board of Supervisors meeting. We need speakers to carry on our efforts to convince the BOS to sever ties with ICLEI. The rationale for reducing county carbon emissions by 30% by 2020 took another blow here. Look for more educational information on why the ICLEI relationship is a big issue. More on that here for now.

Thursday September 29th: We will have a candidates forum with the candidates for the County Board of Supervisors. Most of the candidates have confirmed. The forum will begin at 6:30 PM. More on this over the weekend.

Thursday October 6: We will have our normal monthly meeting. We will have lots to share on upcoming events and will have an educational program on a hot topic as well.
