Two important events are coming up next week. Please plan on attending if you can…

Tuesday September 27: ICLEI Fight is on.

For those not familiar with the ICLEI issue, you really need to educate yourself. We have lots of information on our site and on the Virginia Green Menace.com

Roanoke County is paying $1200 a year for a membership in a UN partnered ICLEI organization that has used the global warming hoax to wrangle concessions on zoning regulations designed to create high density urban areas in the county. They have convinced the Board of Supervisors to even support legislation that mandates a ridiculous 30% reduction in every Roanoke County resident’s harmless carbon emissions by 2020. That is one of the reasons I believe the county board sold out rural property owners on the recent Wind Ordinance.

We will be back at the 7PM session, during the public comment section to continue to ask the board to vote on severing their ICLEI membership. We will continue to do this until we can obtain a commitment from the Board to vote on severing ties with ICLEI. We need your help. We need fresh faces who haven’t spoken before. You only need 3 minutes of information and we will be happy to help you put your thoughts together…..if you would like to talk but aren’t comfortable just email me back and we can help.

Roanoke County BOS Candidates Forum on Thursday, September 29

We will be sponsoring a candidates forum to be held at the Roanoke County Admin Building on Thursday, September 29th at 6:30PM. We will be recording the event so we can share the results.. Chip will moderate. Please tell all of your friends to attend, no matter what their political background may be. The questions we will be fair and the candidates will be given 3 minutes a piece (the same time they give citizens to talk) to explain their positions on county specific issues.

Door To Door

If you would like to help some of the state senate candidates in the area so the Democrats don’t control the state senate in 2011, there will be a group coordinating door to door campaigning. They are from the state tea party federation and theyvetted candidates to ensure they met their standards. State Senate Candidates not on this list didn’t make their cut.

Stanley in the 20th (Southern/Southwest VA)
Smith in the 19th (Central/Western VA – West of Lynchburg to South and West of Roanoke)
Light in the 38th (Western VA near Blacksburg/Christiansburg to Coal region)

If you would be willing to take a Saturday and help go door to door for these candidates if they make YOUR cut….here’s what you do.

1.  Sign up on LibertyLinked.com - create an account, and join Virginia 21 Victory 2011
2.  Contact mklloydva@gmail.com or fbyankee@gmail.com

If you let them know which candidate you want to help they will set you up with the information and material you need. This will carry on all through out October. The Democrats (and RINOs) have controlled the state senate for years. A GOP majority might allow some meaningful legislation to pass the General Assembly.

We have a meeting on October 6. Believe it or not fall is almost upon us. God bless you and we will see you next week.
