Sigh… There are so many uncertainties in life… it’s comforting to know the Congressional Republican leadership can be counted upon to deal or cave every time a deadline approaches. And hey, what’s another $100,000,000,000 worth of debt on top of the 15 Trillion we already owe? Heck, we can probably print that much up over the weekend if we get cracking early.

The only good news to report is neither Congressman Goodlatte nor Griffith voted for this latest retreat. Not so much for Congressman Hurt. He went along with it. Somebody over in the 5th take note of that please.

From the Senate Floor on the other end of the Capitol building, Sen. Mark Warner voiced his opposition to the unfunded extension of the payroll tax holiday, and promised a Nay vote. While we can’t accept his entire rationale as stated, recognizing that much is an important first step. For now, we’ll take the Nay vote Senator, and parse over the details later.

Here’s the worst part – it’s not over yet. Just 2 short months from now, we’ll get hosed again by this same Congress on another extension. Who wants odds on the outcome of that vote?

My friends, days like this one are what we need to remember in these upcoming primary elections. The reckless spending has to stop, and it won’t stop as long as we continue electing the same people. That’s why primaries matter. That’s how we change the status quo. Forcing a primary on an incumbent or a popular politician is no easy feat, but it’s becoming downright necessary around this Country.

“The Status Quo is what you have left, after the Quo has completely lost it’s Status.”

Have a nice weekend, RTP. Thanks to everyone for sticking with us.
