The Courts of Justice committee will be hearing HB 1160 on Wednesday. This bill would act as a buffer between Virginians and specific language in the National Defense Authorization Act that allows the military to act within U.S. borders to detain U.S. citizens. We posted on that here.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED: Unlawful detention of United States citizens. Prevents any agency, political subdivision, employee, or member of the military of Virginia from assisting an agency or the armed forces of the United States in the investigation, prosecution, or detainment of a United States citizen in violation of the Constitution of Virginia.
Delegate Greg Habeeb, of the Va. 8th District is on this committee. Mr. Habeeb has indicated his support for HB 1160 during the sub-committee process. Please take a moment today to contact Mr. Habeeb, thank him for the support, and ask that he continue the advancement of this bill.

Just when you start to think things are headed our way with UDA’s, private property rights, and land use in general… Here comes HB 614, sporting a Republican Chief Patron – James LeMunyon.
HB 614 Comprehensive plan; controls future land use decisions of governing body.
Whenever a local planning commission recommends a comprehensive plan or part thereof for the locality and such plan has been approved and adopted by the governing body, such plan shall control the future land use decisions of the governing body. No zoning amendment shall be approved unless it has been determined to be substantially in accord with the adopted comprehensive plan.
Welcome to the reality of how Agenda 21 is being implemented in Virginia folks. Get on those phones, let your representatives know we don’t need Richmond meddling with our local zoning and planning. Let them know a vote for this kind of bill means no vote for re-election.
In particular, direct calls to oppose HB 614 to our local 11th District Delegate Onzlee Ware. Mr. Ware is on the Counties, Cities, and Towns committee, where this dreadful piece of legislation now rests.

Let’s also keep up the pressure for passage of the Property Rights Constitutional Amendment, SJ 3, and it’s House companion, HJ 3. Read about them here

This job as interim President has presented me with an opportunity to watch this 2012 legislative session much closer than ever before. I’m absolutely amazed at how many bills there are that are either fully laced with, or have at least some aspect of Agenda 21 within them.
Just pulling from the pile of updates that landed in my Inbox just this week, it doesn’t take long to realize that the sticking point with bills like 614 is; the language in them is derived from organizations like the APA (American Planning Association), an ICLEI partner, who *literally* wrote the book “A Legislative Guide Book to Smart Growth/Sustainable Development”, which is of course completely driven by UN Agenda 21.
Connect the dots folks. Stay on the phones.
For example, here are two bills dealing with streams and watersheds, right out of Agenda 21 playbook…
