Take a Stand Against Unconstitutional Amnesty!
on June 18th, 2012 at 11:28 amBelow is a plea from our friends in other Tea Party groups to raise a ruckus about the quasi amnesty action that Obama is implementing in blatant disregard to the Constitution. It would be nice if our representatives did something besides wring their hands about the latest blatant violation of the Constitution. Don’t really see how suing the President is as effective as holding impeachment proceedings. Don’t count on that occurring though.
Regardless, we really should raise a stink about this issue. Obama keeps dipping his toe deeper into the water and finding noone has the guts to stop him from completing the transformation of the Presidency into a dictatorship. The rest is from a communication that went out earlier today…

President Obama blatantly violated the Constitution once again today when he announced he will grant amnesty to over 800,000 illegal immigrants under the age of 31. The policy will allow these aliens to not only live but also work in the United States.
This policy is similar to that proposed in the Dream Act, which passed in the House of Representatives under Nancy Pelosi, but failed in the Senate in 2010, even while liberals still had a commanding majority.
House Judiciary Committee Chair Lamar Smith (R-TX) declared, “This huge policy shift has horrible consequences for unemployed Americans looking for jobs and violates President Obama’s oath to uphold the laws of this land.” Smith went on, “How can the administration justify allowing illegal immigrants to work in the U.S. when millions of Americans are unemployed? President Obama and his administration once again have put partisan politics and illegal immigrants ahead of the rule of law and the American people.”
Obama is consistently flouting the Constitution by implementing policy through the Executive branch that is too radical to get through even the Reid-Pelosi Congress. He did it with cap and trade and card check, now he has done it with amnesty, and we must not let him get away with it!
Conservatives in Congress are hard at work developing a strategy to stand up against this egregious abuse of power. (Editor Note: Really?!? I haven’t seen that yet on anything else that Obama has pulled. Chip)
Our friend Congressman Steve King (R-IA) has already declared that he will sue the Obama Administration to keep the policy from going into effect. King used this remedy successfully in Iowa when then-Governor, now U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack attempted to implement policy by Executive Order.
Take Action!
We need you to contact your Senators and Representatives and tell them to take a stand for the Constitution. They cannot let the President get away with as he put it “working his way around Congress” in violation of the Constitution.
Capitol Switchboard: (202) 224-3121
We need you to attend Town Hall meetings and get your friends and family to continue to call your legislators until they take action.
We will keep you posted as specific legislation comes together, but for now your legislators just need to hear that you want this problem addressed!

Was Obama’s immigration shift aimed at nullifying Rubio as VP? http://www.2012presidentialelectionnews.com/2012/06/was-obamas-immigration-shift-aimed-at-nullifying-rubio-as-vp/
Florida Senator Marco Rubio has been working on an alternative to the DREAM Act which intended to do something similar to the President’s announcement. One angle that hasn’t much been discussed is whether this position change from the President could actually diminish the chances that Mitt Romney would select Marco Rubio as his VP. The DREAM Act is not a piece of legislation supported by the majority of the Republican Party nor is President Obama’s recent announcement. Rubio’s legislation, which has not been released yet, would also be very similar to the DREAM Act and President Obama’s announced policy change.

If Obama’s actions are allowed to stand then there is nothing to stop Romney from using this new power to:
eradicate all restrictions on oil drilling on federal lands – order the Department of the Interior to cease enforcement activity preventing oil and gas exploration and drilling on federal lands or
Strip all minimum fuel efficiency standards for automakers – order the Department of Transportation to cease enforcement of all CAFE standards or
Kill the Estate Tax – order the IRS to cease enforcement of penalties related to non-payment of Estate Taxes or
Render the EPA toothless – order the EPA to cease all enforcement activities or
Implement a Flat Tax – order the IRS not to prosecute anyone who fails to pay more than an 18 percent tax rate or
Eradicate Obamacare – order HHS to cease implementation of all facets of the unpopular law— or anything else he wants to do.
This will destroy our Republic, but what the heck some of these sound pretty good.
That is a pretty good one Mary. Enlightened despotism is an effective form of government. Unfortunately it is rare to have a leader who doesn’t use unfettered power to serve their own selfish desires. That is the whole purpose of a Constitutional Republic. Something sadly most seem to have forgotten.
It’s NOT an Executive Order.

Not that it makes what the President did any more right, but just to clarify, this is an ‘administrative memo’, *not* an ‘executive order’ as was erroneously reported in many places.
Here is some commentary on what the memo actually does:
