The Cult Of Personality

I had one more thought about the Obama visit and what it means long term for friends of liberty and enemies of freedom.
The fact that 2000+ people showed up to shower praise on a President who has failed so miserably and says stupid stuff like this that should give us pause about the future of our nation.
The Cult of Personality is in full effect here in the United States. That isn’t the way that the nation was designed to run. George Washington’s followers held him in a similarly reverential light. Although Washington had, against all odds, lead a revolution against the most powerful nation on the planet and demonstrated courage, fortitude and never wavered in his devout and public worship of God.
Obama has succeeded in destroying the economy and furthering the erosion of freedom. He denies his Christian faith at every turn, yet people who profess to be Christians still rabidly follow him. But he does a nice job of speechifying on what people want to hear…even if it doesn’t make any sense and it flaunts his violations of the Constitution.
The big difference between Washington is that when his followers asked him to be king, he flatly said NO.
Obama is working every day to become that king, and his fawning supporters will push him all the way there.
So what do we do?
- Keep fighting for the Constitution. There are many that still believe in the founders visions. We need to rally all of them around the issues of the day.
- Change the hearts of those on the fence. That comes to getting into individual conversations tying faith conversations and the role of government together.
The Roanoke Tea Party goes on the assumption that our followers already get the proper role of government and their faith. But the fact is that many people don’t get it. We need churches to get into this fight and help guide people in these conversations.
And this is why I am personally looking for ways in my own life to do more on this front. Because getting more people into the fight for freedom may be the most important thing we need to do to save this nation from the Cult of Personality.
