"Attilla" says he saw our signs on 419. Here they are. Do you see the word Obama?

We posted signs yesterday to publicize tonight’s meeting and one of the topics to be discussed. The photograph you see is one of the postings. This sign caught the eye of a person calling him/herself “Attila Gokbudak” who before talking with us or asking any questions fired off this email to the RTP:

Subject: I saw your group post “Impeach Obama” signs on Rte. 419 on the 4th of July

I will sum up feelings in one word:

“disgraceful.”

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Sincerely, Tilly Gokbudak

His subject header contained an incorrect assertion and he did not explain his remarks following so I inquired by return email:

Hello, I am disappointed that you have the opinion that you do, but I think it is important to note that you are incorrect. There are no signs posted by the Roanoke tea party that say “impeach obama” on 419 nor anywhere else for that matter. I hope you understand that it is hard to take you seriously when you can’t even remember what you saw or you are just making it up. Either way, you should get your facts straight before making accusations.

I got this response:

Mr. Alridge. I saw a posting of a sign suggesting President Obama be impeached with my own eyes circa 4:30 p.m. Yes, you can say I didn’t take a photograph to 100-percent verify it as I was busy driving. And, I also saw this person promote your event at the Tanglewood Holiday Inn. Now, perhaps, you are right and you yourself do not hold such radical, hateful views. Nevertheless, given what I saw I feel I have a legitimate reason to be outraged. I realize we live in a free and democratic society, and we have very different views. But, assuredly, if someone on the far left posted such a derogatory sign against Mitt Romney, I would let them know this is inappropriate.

No you didn’t Mr Gokbudak. You saw a sign that had only the word “impeach” and evidently your brain filled in the president’s name.

If mitt romney breaks his oath to the constitution as president (if he is ever president) he should be impeached.

If I believed that our current president should be impeached for the same reason, can articulate the list of offenses in a clear and concise manner, how would that be “hateful” or “derogatory”?

You are free to be whatever, but you didn’t see what you think you saw and that was my point. There is not legitimate reason to be “outraged” over something you did not even see.

The sign was a bad idea, and you irregardless of what message you were trying to send out, it will seem to many people that you were specifically aiming the message towards President Barack Obama. And, the fact that today was the Fourth of July makes the decision even more dubious.

But, I sincerely look forward to having the last laugh in November when our wonderful, benevolent president and leader of the western world is re-elected as he most certainly should be.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

You are not alone. Many people support Barack. That has no bearing on my question, which you avoided answering. It was:

“Now, if I believed that our current president should be impeached for the same reason, can articulate the list of offenses in a clear and concise manner, how would that be “hateful” or “derogatory”?

Can you explain yourself or have I just witnessed in your email your tendency to just say a bunch of meaningless garbage out of an emotional response that you cannot justify rationally?

You claim we put up an “impeach obama” sign, but we clearly did not.

You accused us of having “radical, hateful views”, but cannot articulate how that is the case.

You claim to have a “legitimate reason to be outraged.” but can’t explain how.

You claim ” the fact that today was the Fourth of July makes the decision even more dubious.” When the fact is that he 4th of July just happens to be the day before our meeting which is always this same day every month for 3 years now.

You care so little about understanding and are so quick to judge and attack you didn’t even inquire about the timing,

What does the word “irregardless” mean? Can you find it in a dictionary?

Greg

I endure this kind of discussion on a daily basis. People constantly make baseless emotionally motivated charges against me or a group or position I represent. Notice how this person never substantiated or explained any assertion they made towards the RTP or me. This person is a prime example of a considerable number of people out there. They are numerous, active, misinformed, emotionally charged and dangerous. Why dangerous? Because they vote, volunteer, donate money and many will likely become violent when backed in a logical corner without facts and truth on their side.

We need you to help us form an army of patriots so overwhelming to the forces of stateism, socialism, Marxism, liberalism and the like that these people are politically devoured and liberty can once again win the day in America

Don’t leave this up to someone else. We can not win without your help. Start tonight.

The Roanoke Tea Party has a plan and we need your help.

Tonight, 6:30pm, Holiday Inn Tanglewood.
