Tonight is a critical meeting at the Roanoke County Administration Building. Directions, links and a few lose ends around an additional stupid issue the county is reviewing…chicken restrictions.

There is another issue on the agenda. Chicken regulation. The county wants to limit all residential zoned residents to 6 chickens. Regardless of how much property you have. This kind of silly, knee jerk reaction is just bad policy. Why should a resident with 6 acres, be restricted to the same number of chickens as someone with .6 acres?
How about dealing with nuisance owners of chickens when they become a nuisance, instead of implementing a silly regulation that hurts law abiding citizens.
That would make more sense wouldn’t it? Feel free to speak on this issue too…
Elections are coming next year for 3 of the 5 members of the Board. Fresh blood is definitely needed here.
