Oppose:

HB 1768: Environmental courts; district court or circuit court may establish, specialized court dockets.  “Provides that any district court or circuit court may establish an environmental court, a separate court docket within the existing calendar of a district or circuit court, that would have the authority to hear cases involving the protection, improvement, and preservation of the public health and the environment.”

Setting up specialized courts for environmental issues is a terrible idea. It is an afront to our Constitutionally-based judicial system and mirrors Agenda 21 goal for the establishment of the environmental courts.

Please contact our local House of Delegates Member Greg Habeeb and ask him to vigourously oppose this bill in the Courts and Justice committee.   (804) 698-1008   DelGHabeeb@house.virginia.gov. Update: I heard from Delegate Habeeb and he is opposing the bill. Please thank him for his efforts.
