Jeff Vanke

Vanke is an author and budget consultant with a PHD in Political History. He is running as an independent.

After perusing Vanke’s website, he has several positions stated that are antithetical to the Roanoke Tea Party’s principles.

He supports a Universal health care scheme through caps on private insurance profits.  This type of government intervention is absolutely not supported by the Constitution.

He supports an amnesty plan for illegal immigrants. This does not support the rule of law.

He supports the current Tax system with minor adjustments. Our tax system is in dire need of total reform.

While he does not support Cap and Trade, his energy plan is very similar in many respects and would require unconstitutional meddling form the Federal Government.

Vanke’s platform is interesting in that it does pull some good ideas into the mix, but there are many platform positions that are simply incompatible with the Constitution, therefore Vanke’s ratng is

Little/No chance the candidate will uphold their oath.
